Nutrition Therapy with Devrie Pettit

Devrie Pettit is a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist. She received her BS degree in Nutrition and Food Science from Utah State University. She then went on to complete her Dietetic Internship and receive her Master's Degree from Stony Brook University in New York. She studied the Mediterranean Diet in Italy where her love for Italian cuisine grew.

Devrie has worked at Life Time Fitness as the Nutrition Coach and co-developed the company's corporate wellness program for the top insurance brokerage firm in Utah. Devrie co-founded a successful online business named PureFit PureFood in 2014. In 2017 she re-branded on her own to support a more concise wellness message focused on Intuitive Eating, HAES, and restriction recovery. She does not believe in diets, loves to cook, and try new restaurants. Devrie is a wife and mother of four. Raising them as "foodies" rather than "health nuts" is one of her deepest passions.

What can I expect in a private session with Devrie?

The way I guide my clients through their personal nutrition journey is completely unique. It will be different than anything you've experienced before and at times it will feel like therapy. I am not going to tell you what to eat, how much or when. But, I will give you the tools you need to discover what works best for you. I want to hear about your diet and how it's served you over the years. While I know we will discuss your body image and weight, I find it unethical to promote weight loss. Rather, we focus on health promoting behaviors that will last a lifetime. 

I incorporate the principles of Intuitive Eating and advocate for Health At Every Size as I help you overcome food restriction and heal from chronic dieting. 

Who are these sessions for?

Private Nutrition Therapy is for anyone in need of individual support to break free from the influence of diet culture and find peace with food. We will work together in discovering a truly healthy relationship with food through researched-based nutrition strategies. If you are looking to gain confidence and find joy around your eating experiences, this is for you. This is not for individuals in the throws of an eating disorder. Rather, those with disordered eating and looking to heal from chronic dieting.
